Description
The Locomobile Company in Massachusetts, America, manufactured the first Steam Locomobile in 1899 with manufacturing rights from the Stanely Brithers, who were the first to make steam vehicles. More than 4000 Locomobiles were manufactured and sold until 1904.The Locomobile was alight weight four wheeler with spoked wheels and coach work similar to the horse-drawn era and the vehicle was powered by twin-cylinder engine with a boiler beneath the driver’s seat. Full leaf springs provided a comfortable ride. Steering was a hand mounted tiller.
