UMS Technologies Private Limited, established in 1957 as UMS Radio Factory, is a pioneering company known for its legacy of innovation. Founded under the vision of G. D. Naidu, the “Edison of India” and a versatile inventor, UMS collaborated with Grundig, Germany, to manufacture radios and tape recorders. By 1980, the company expanded its product line to include television accessories like antennas, amplifiers, boosters, and stabilizers, becoming a trusted name across India. Today, UMS Technologies continues to uphold its commitment to innovation and quality in engineering excellence.
We collaborate with top-tier multinational firms, including HCL – U.S.A., HP – U.S.A., VISTEON – Germany, MITSUBISHI – Japan, SIEMENS – Germany, MTL Instruments – U.K., FESTO – Germany, SCHNEIDER – Germany, OLHO TECHNIK – Germany, HELLA – Germany.
Incorporation:
The Company was originally incorporated in March 1970 under the name and style of U.M.S Radio Factory Private Limited. Subsequently, the name of the Company was changed to UMS Technology Limited in October 2005. The registered office of the Company is located at “Gopal Bagh”, 1062, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore-641018, Tamil Nadu, India.
Business Description:
The Company is engaged in the business of manufacture of high-end precision machined components, radial engines, aero model engines and accessories.
The Company has a high-end machine shop with machines such as Makino, Hermle, Gedee Weiler Turn mill Centres etc.
The operators are well trained and are productivity conscious. The Company also makes the 1886 Benz Motorwagen Replica, 1896 Ford Quadricycle, 1899 Locomobile Runabout Replica and export across the globe.
The Company has partnered with GDJETCAT to manufacture jet engines and turbines for the defence sector.

GEDEE WEILER
Gedee Weiler was established by Shri G.D. Gopal and Mr Hermann Weiler in collaboration with M/s. Weiler Werkzeugmaschinen, Germany, in 1966. In the initial years the company manufactured Capstan Lathes, Second operation Lathes & High Precision Manual Centre lathes. It is notably, one among India’s first CNC lathe manufacturer by introducing CNC Lathes in 1986, positioning itself as a pioneer in the machine tool industry. Today Gedee Weiler is a partner with G.D.W Werkzeugmaschinen, Germany, and has since been exporting High precision lathes to Europe. Today Gedee Weiler has Developed a Wide Range of Dual Spindle Machines as a Turn mill Machine and Turn Mill Machine with. Y axis to enable complete machining and Multi-Tasking. Gedee Weiler had also adopted sustainable practices by installing a cutting-edge water treatment plant from H2O, Germany, achieving 96% water recovery.

Gedee Technical Training Institute (GTTI)
in 1972, Late Shri G D Naidu started the G D Naidu Charitable Trust with the sole aim of offering short term vocational courses for the students who have passed or failed SSLC. The courses were more practical oriented and covered various fields such as Radio & Television Technology, Automobile Service & Maintenance Technology, Draughtsman Training, Skilled Mechanical Craftsman Course etc.
Later in the year 2002, the trust started another new institution, Gedee Technical Training Institute, in collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce to offer Diploma courses in par with the German Dual System of Training. The students undergo similar training as that of the world famous German Dual Vocational Training in fields such as Tool Making, Mechatronics etc.

The Goethe Zentrum (started in September 2007), offers German language courses in Coimbatore, organizes cultural events and has a German Resource Centre. The Goethe Zentrum functions as a unit of the Coimbatore Indo-German Cultural Association founded by the G D Group, Coimbatore.
