UMS Technologies Private Limited, established in 1957 as UMS Radio Factory, is a pioneering company with a long-standing legacy of innovation. UMS collaborated with Grundig, Germany, to manufacture radios and tape recorders. Over time, the company expanded its product range to include television accessories such as antennas, amplifiers, boosters, and stabilizers, becoming a trusted name across India. UMS also exports its products to various countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Australia, the UAE, Japan, and Taiwan.
The company was incorporated in March 1970 under the name UMS Radio Factory Private Limited. In October 2005, the company’s name was changed to UMS Technology Limited, and later, on 29th March 2019, it was converted to UMS Technologies Private Limited. The registered office of the company is located at “Gopal Bagh”, 1062, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore – 641018, Tamil Nadu, India.
The company is engaged in the manufacture of high-end precision machined components, radial engines, aero model engines and accessories, HAM products, as well as vintage car replicas.
The company operates a state-of-the-art machine shop equipped with world-class machines, including Gedee Weiler CNC turning centers, Gedee Weiler turn-mill centers with sub-spindles, Hermle five-axis machines, Makino VMCs, DMG MORI VMCs with three- and four-axis capabilities, Mori Seiki and ROMI turn-mill centers, and six-axis CNC laser welding machines, among others. In addition, the company maintains a cluster of high-precision machines to meet diverse manufacturing needs.
Inspection and quality control are ensured through advanced facilities, including ZEISS CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), TRIMOS height gauges, air gauges, and hardness testers. Operators are highly trained and maintain a strong focus on quality and productivity.
The company also produces replicas of iconic vehicles such as the 1886 Benz Motorwagen, the 1896 Ford Quadricycle, and the 1899 Locomobile Runabout, which are exported worldwide. Furthermore, the company has partnered with GDJETCAT to manufacture mini jet engines and gas turbines.

Gedee Weiler was established in 1966 by Shri G.D. Gopal and Mr. Hermann Weiler in collaboration with M/s. Weiler Werkzeugmaschinen, Germany. In its early years, the company manufactured capstan lathes, second operation lathes, and high-precision manual centre lathes. Notably, Gedee Weiler became one of India’s first CNC lathe manufacturers by introducing CNC lathes in 1986, establishing itself as a pioneer in the machine tool industry.
Today, Gedee Weiler partners with G.D.W. Werkzeugmaschinen, Germany, and exports high-precision lathes to Europe. The company has developed a wide range of dual-spindle machines, including turn-mill machines and turn-mill machines with Y-axis capabilities, enabling complete machining and multi-tasking operations. Gedee Weiler has also embraced sustainable practices by installing a state-of-the-art water treatment plant from H2O, Germany, achieving 96% water recovery.

In 1972, the late Shri G. D. Naidu established the G. D. Naidu Charitable Trust with the primary aim of offering short-term vocational courses for students who had passed or failed the SSLC. These courses were highly practical and covered various fields such as radio and television technology, automobile service and maintenance, draughtsman training, and skilled mechanical craftsman courses.
In 2002, the trust launched a new institution, Gedee Technical Training Institute, in collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce, to offer diploma courses aligned with the German Dual System of Training. Students undergo training similar to the world-renowned German Dual Vocational Training in fields such as tool making, mechatronics, and other technical disciplines.
